Country Biscuits
2 cups All-Purpose flour
1 TBS baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening (I use butter flavored Crisco)
3/4 cup milk

1. Heat oven to 450 degrees F.

2. Combine Flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in the Crisco using a pastry blender to form coarse crumbs. Add milk. Mix with fork until particles are moistened and cling together. Form dough into a ball.

3. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Knead gently 8-10 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 2-inch round cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet.

4. Bake for around 12-15 minutes.

Makes 12-16 biscuits.
