Happy and Sad

I don't usually post too many blogs about personal things because everyone has their issues and I am not one to try to top someone else's or add to their woes, but today is a melancholy day.  Jeff and I are taking our son, Connor, to lunch today to celebrate his 18th birthday (yeah!) but then on Monday we have to take him to the airport for school (sad face).  He is a college freshman this year at HPU and I am so very excited for him in a way but in another, I am sad.  He is our last young one to leave the nest and after Monday it will be Jeff, myself, Midnight, Precious and Josie (and whatever other critters decide to wander into our tree-lined midst.  Will be quite different to say the least.  Jeff and I have been married for 28 years and we have a daughter, Michille, who is married to a wonderful young man and they are currently stationed in New Mexico;  It is amazing the difference that it makes when time passes so quickly and the children grow up.  Luckily, for me, I have some friends coming from Belgium for a few weeks and we are going to head south to Nashville *maybe hook up with Lacy too-yeah!* for a little over a week and that will help my empty nest syndrome but hubby will be here holding down the fort with our wonderful kitties.  lol  He couldn't go with us this year due to work.

Well, anyway, thank you for letting my tears hit your shoulder and not complaining.  I promise I won't get your sleeve wet again anytime soon.

Jeff and I are taking Connor to lunch and then I am heading to a few thrift shops while they go back to work. At least that is something that will put a :o) on my face!  Have a groovy day and I will see you tomorrow.

  1. Hello,
I have just strolled through your blog and am so happy to have found you. We have just graduated our youngest and she is due to leave the nest soon. We have three - two already graduated from High School and quite grown in their lives. It is a bittersweet time for mothers - our goal is to grow them up to become the wonderful adults we know they could be - yet, those days of small faces, sticky hands and full throttle hugs seem soo long ago. God opens doors for us in so many ways - I know that He has a special place in His heart for mothers. I wanted to follow - do you use Google connect or just the network? will check back,
    God Bless,
    Kathy
